A MAN WITH MAGIC SHIRT

Yuth and Sophy was a simple but well-respected spouse among others living in their village. They grew vegetable for sale.
One day, when Yuth came back from selling his vegetable at the market, he met his old friends on the way. They were drinking alcohol together at a liquor shop. Yuth enjoyed with them and forgot himself until it got dark.

Then, Yuth continued his way home in the night while he was still feeling drunk. He was fainted and could not walk any longer. Yuth fell down and vomited on a strange hill. Suddenly, there was whirlwind and sound of wind blowing while appeared a devil in front of him.

The devil was very angry because Yuth had dirtied his hill. The devil immediately showed off his power and expanded his body size bigger and bigger until it blocked the moon light from Yuth. He even threatened to draw this man's spirit, saying "I will make you sick and die." Yuth couldn't open his eyes so he could not see and he was not scared. He shouted loudly back to the devil, "I will lead villagers to come and destroy this place so that you and your children will have no shelter." When the devil heard Yuth's threat, he was shocked and he took out a magic shirt, which was his ancestor's treasure, to give to Yuth. The devil begged Yuth not to destroy the hill but should become friends. Yuth agreed and also shook hand with the devil as a token of friendship.

Later on, Yuth determined that he stops drinking alcohol. Instead, he would try to work hard all the time. With desires to improve living condition, Yuth borrowed some money for traveling to a far place in search for a more-income job while his wife continued growing vegetable for sale.

Peanich was a rice mill owner. He exported uncooked rice to sell abroad. Yuth asked for a job in the rice mill. He received salary, food and accommodation in the mill the same as other workers.

As for his wife Sophy, since Yuth went to work in the mill, she always brought her crop products to sell at the market. She did not know she was being lustfully watched by another man.

It was the Merchant Swet who felt in love with her. He followed her to her house and then he realized that Sophy is Yuth's wife who borrowed him money.

Villagers who owed Merchant Swet money were all upset because of the high interest rate. When they saw the man reaching the fence of Sophy's house, their hearts became disturbed and they incited their dogs to bark and chase him. Dogs stormed to the man and barked noisily. Merchant Swet and his servants were scared out of their wits. They simultaneously screamed and quickly managed to escape for their safety without having to think much.

Merchant Swet felt very shameful to what happened to him . When his servants inflamed him about the event, his anger became even more extreme. Finally, he decided that he must force Sophy to pay him back both principal and interest within seven days.

At the rice mill, Yuth was very diligent and worked hard to fulfill all his duties. His boss Peanich liked him very much and made him the warehouse chief. The other four workers, who came to work before Yuth, got jealous and rancorous of him.

One day, when Yuth and his boss were on the way back home, they were robbed. All robbers were wearing face masks to cover their identity. The robbers tied Peanich to the trunk of a tree and searched for his money. Yuth was able to escape and returned with his magic and hidden shirt to help his boss. Yuth fiercely fight against all the four robbers. The robbers could not see Yuth and they got confused. The robbers fought each other among their own group until they got unconscious with their masks off. The incident caused surprise to many people because they learned that all robbers were the servants of Mr. Peanich . The robbers were the workers who got jealous of Yuth in getting promoted.

All the four wicked men were sent to court. Yuth, who had magic shirt, was asked to be a foster son of Mr. Peanich and he was also given money to pay back those he owed. He went to his house to take his wife to live with him at the rice mill.

Unfortunately, Yuth was told that his wife Sophy was taken away by Merchant Swet since early morning. Yuth put on his magic shirt again then searched for his wife at Swet's house. He found his wife arrested and kept alone in the house. Yuth took his wife out and placed a devil in the room instead.

At the night fall, Merchant Swet took bath and started to court Sophy. Once Swet got into the room, the door was automatically slammed. Sophy's face turned to pale and her eyes widely opened and gradually translated into a devil. She stuck her tongue out. Merchant Swet got frightened and no longer dare to hurt the weak.
